Bitcoin ETFs add $470M in Lookonchain tally as Ether figures diverge

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have attracted $470.15 million in net inflows in Lookonchain’s Oct. 22 update, while its reported Ether withdrawals have differed from Farside Investors’ latest completed session.

    Summary

    • BlackRock and Fidelity accounted for 92% of Bitcoin’s daily net intake in Lookonchain’s snapshot.
    • ETHA withdrawals outweighed inflows across the other Ethereum funds listed in the same update.
    • Farside recorded three positive Bitcoin sessions totaling $1.07 billion through Oct. 21.
    • Ethereum’s latest completed Farside session was positive, contrasting with Lookonchain’s reported daily withdrawal.

Lookonchain’s supplied update lists 5,766 BTC entering Bitcoin funds over one day and 4,422 ETH leaving Ethereum products, valued at $10.63 million. Its seven-day totals show Bitcoin inflows worth $937.97 million against Ethereum withdrawals of $290.03 million.

Farside’s completed Oct. 21 records, however, put Bitcoin inflows at $524.8 million and show Ethereum funds attracting $14.9 million. The two providers therefore present different daily totals, with opposite directions for Ether. Lookonchain’s graphic labels its figures Oct. 22 but does not identify a corresponding completed U.S. trading session.

Bitcoin ETF buying centers on BlackRock and Fidelity

Within Lookonchain’s Bitcoin breakdown, BlackRock’s IBIT added 2,785 BTC and Fidelity’s FBTC received 2,522 BTC. Calculated from the displayed figures, their combined 5,307 BTC represented approximately 92% of the reported daily net intake.

Bitwise’s BITB gained 228 BTC, ARK 21Shares’ ARKB added 116 BTC, and the group labeled “Others” received 121 BTC, according to the graphic. Grayscale’s combined GBTC and BTC entry recorded a five-Bitcoin withdrawal.

Across seven days, Lookonchain assigned 10,596 BTC of net inflows to BlackRock, followed by 1,413 BTC for Fidelity. Grayscale’s combined entry lost 803 BTC over that window, partially offsetting positive readings elsewhere in the table.

Calculated from Lookonchain’s two time windows, the reported daily Bitcoin intake equals 50.1% of its seven-day total. Subtracting 5,766 BTC from 11,503 BTC leaves 5,737 BTC in net inflows across the rest of that window; the snapshot does not provide those individual daily readings.

The holdings column in Lookonchain’s snapshot places IBIT at 814,263 BTC, compared with 188,298 BTC for the combined Grayscale products and 178,955 BTC for Fidelity. Across all listed Bitcoin funds, the graphic reports holdings of 1,284,312 BTC.

Those holdings figures describe the balances shown in Lookonchain’s snapshot; its separate one-day and seven-day columns report net flows over their respective windows. The graphic groups some issuers together instead of providing an individual entry for every listed product.

Ether withdrawals concentrate in BlackRock’s ETHA

For Ethereum, Lookonchain’s table assigns an 11,764 ETH daily withdrawal to BlackRock’s ETHA. Fidelity’s FETH received 5,239 ETH, while Grayscale’s combined ETHE and ETH entry added 1,366 ETH.

Bitwise attracted 357 ETH and other products received 379 ETH, with VanEck showing no net change, according to the same snapshot. The displayed positive entries sum to 7,341 ETH, partly offsetting BlackRock’s reported withdrawal.

Lookonchain’s rounded issuer entries consequently produce a 4,423 ETH net withdrawal, one ETH above its published aggregate. The small difference should be retained as a rounding discrepancy rather than silently changing the provider’s stated total.

Over seven days, Lookonchain records 112,210 ETH leaving ETHA and another 14,458 ETH leaving Grayscale’s combined products. Calculated against its reported 120,629 ETH category withdrawal, BlackRock accounted for approximately 93% of the net total.

Using the same method for Ethereum, the reported daily withdrawal represents 3.7% of the seven-day net outflow. The remaining 116,207 ETH belongs to the rest of Lookonchain’s stated window, without a daily breakdown showing whether every session was negative.

The graphic puts Ethereum ETF holdings at 5,687,881 ETH, including 3,296,428 ETH at BlackRock, 1,624,638 ETH across Grayscale’s two products and 572,360 ETH at Fidelity.

Farside records three positive Bitcoin sessions

Farside’s Bitcoin table lists $526.7 million in net inflows on Oct. 19, followed by $23.2 million on Oct. 20 and $524.8 million on Oct. 21. Adding those completed sessions produces $1.0747 billion in inflows across three trading days.

For Oct. 21, Farside assigns $235 million to IBIT and $212.7 million to FBTC. Grayscale’s GBTC and Bitcoin Mini Trust received $32.6 million and $8.2 million, respectively, differing from the combined negative Grayscale entry in Lookonchain’s snapshot.

On the Ethereum side, Farside records $103.3 million in withdrawals on Oct. 19 and $26.1 million on Oct. 20 before the Oct. 21 inflow. Its Oct. 22 row still contains dashes for individual funds, so the displayed aggregate zero does not establish a completed session with no activity.

Earlier October reports document sustained withdrawals

As crypto.news previously reported, Bitcoin and Ethereum funds both suffered weekly withdrawals during October, during Oct. 12–16. Farside-based figures put their respective losses at $228.4 million and $320.1 million, with BlackRock’s ETHA accounting for $299 million of the Ethereum total.

An Oct. 10 report documented heavier withdrawals during October, when Bitcoin funds lost $678.9 million, and Ethereum products shed $542.2 million during Oct. 5–9. Ether funds ended every session of that earlier week negative, with ETHA accounting for $477.1 million in withdrawals.

An earlier report published Oct. 3 gave provisional weekly ETF totals of $82.9 million entering Bitcoin funds and $118 million leaving Ethereum products during Sept. 28–Oct. 2. BlackRock entries remained incomplete at that report’s cutoff.

The subsequent Oct. 10 report cited updated figures for the same period of $241.1 million in Bitcoin inflows and $138.1 million in Ethereum outflows.
